Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination in younger pets and a bi-annual physical examination in older pets. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide some of the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet's complete health care needs. These include ultrasound, digital x-ray (both dental and standard), and in-house laboratory testing to provide immediate answers when your pet needs it most.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's blood pressure, oxygenation level, EKG, and temperature are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, modern digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and oral surgery. We are also proud to use digital dental X-ray which can aid in diagnosing less obvious, yet serious problems.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification. These are placed under the skin and can be scanned by humane societies and other veterinary clinics to help get your lost pet back to you even if the collar is lost.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full-line of prescription diets. Many of these can be ordered at the clinic or through our website and shipped directly to your doorstep.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Emergency Care: Please call WestVet at 375-1600 for after-hours emergencies.
Luxury Cat Boarding: We have a quiet cat room with luxury suites facing large windows. If you choose, your cat(s) can have designated play time outside their suite(s) in our cat-only playroom filled with activities to stimulate and exercise your cat like toys, a treehouse cat scratching post to hide and play on, and special time with our Animal Caretaker.
Luxury Dog Boarding: Your dog can spend the day in our doggy day care and the evening in a spacious suite with a comfy bed and soothing environment.
Doggy Day Care: We have a large playroom where your dog can play all day with his/her new furry friends and our Animal Caretaker. We have a special fully enclosed room for older dogs, little puppies, or any more mellow dog that prefers playmates with less energy.
Do-It-Yourself Dog Wash: We have several pet washing stations and delux forced air dryers where you can spruce up your furry friend while keeping YOUR bathroom clean!
Full Service Grooming: We have a full-time groomer who can provide a wide variety of services to help keep your pet looking his/her best!
